Premier Projects has shown its support to the community of Kinshasa through a partnership that helps vulnerable families.
The community department of Premier Loto has joined forces with Jeunes au Soleil (JOS), an NGO that protects street children in the capital of Congo.
The sports betting and lottery retailer worked with JOS to hold a workshop for mothers from disadvantaged backgrounds. The women learned about best business practice and entrepreneurial skills at the meeting.
As a part of the agreement, 73 women attended the workshop, which aimed to enhance their business prospects.
A spokesman for Premier Projects said: “We are delighted to help these families through our partnership with JOS.
“Education and business skills are a major part of our community work. Giving people these opportunities will help us grow as a society, thus leveraging more of us away from poverty.”
The partnership was agreed on Women’s Day 2021, to specifically help women with young children on low income in Kinshasa. The women in this agreement typically support themselves on just $1 a day.
The main mission of JOS is to help street children in the city. They do this through activities such as this one with Premier Loto, where they educate, train and integrate the children and their families into society.
JOS has five houses where they care for street children and their families.
