Orphans in Chad were visited by Santa this week, as the country’s leading bookmaker donated gifts to the centre.
Premier Projects, the community department of Premier Loto, organised the event at the SOS Children’s Village in N’Djamena.
The SOS Children’s Village cares for 120 children. Premier Projects organised Christmas gifts for the kids and Santa Claus delivered them to the village.
A spokesman for Premier Projects said: “Christmas is a time for giving and a time for thinking of those less fortunate. The children at the SOS Village deserve a merry Christmas. We hope our gifts can bring them joy this festive season.
“Premier Loto believes in giving back to the community. The workers at the SOS Children’s Village are real heroes. Therefore we want to thank them for the job they are doing to protect Chad’s most vulnerable.”
The SOS team provide an important service to the city. The SOS Medical Centre provides basic care to 8,000 patients a year who would not be able to afford it.
For children from the region who are no longer able to live with their parents, twelve SOS families can provide a loving home for up to 120 children.
Nearly 250 children also receive primary education at the SOS Hermann Gmeiner School.
Everyone at Premier Projects and Premier Loto would like to wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. We look forward to doing more charitable work in Chad in 2021.
