Premier Projects comes to aid of hospital in Mozambique

Premier Projects has donated essential supplies to a hospital in Mozambique, amidst rising Coronavirus cases in the country.

The community sector of the country’s leading lottery retailer, Premier Loto, gifted PPE to the Nampula Hospital, in the north of the country.

The donation included 2,500 masks and alcohol gel, to protect the front-line workers against COVID-19.

A spokesman for Premier Projects said:

“Premier Loto takes our social responsibility very seriously and we are delighted to be able to help the Nampula Hospital in their hour of need.”
“The hospital staff are dedicating their lives to fighting the virus and we are happy to provide them with support.”

COVID-19 cases in Mozambique have risen sharply since the turn of the year. At the end of 2020 there were under 19,000 cases in the country. To date, there are now more than 56,500.

Nurses and doctors at the Nampula Hospital thanked Premier Projects and Premier Loto for their donation. They said that masks and sanitization were the only way to defeat the virus.

This is not the first donation Premier Projects has completed in Mozambique. During the height of the first wave of the pandemic, the company donated PPE to health centres in Maputo.

Premier Projects has also donated food and essential items to orphans at Christmas time and paid for repairs at an important Mozambique museum.
