The Fortaleza of Maputo was provided with a financial boost ahead of Victory Day in Mozambique.
Premier Loto and their charity wing, Premier Projects, renovated parts of the museum to help the institution continue its cultural work in the heart of Maputo.
Work included the installation of a new lighting system for outdoor exhibits and repairs to the air conditioning system.
The Fortaleza of Maputo is an important museum for the culture and history of Mozambique. The Fortaleza hosted approximately 25,000 guests last year, which included national and foreign visitors.
The museum is used by many schools. Guests can learn the history of the fort and Mozambique through various activities.
Financial difficulties
As with many cultural institutions, maintenance has proved difficult. Funding has not been easy to find.
The donation by Premier Loto and Premier Projects was well received by those in charge at the Fortaleza of Maputo.
