Premier Projects donates PPE to fight Coronavirus in Mali

Premier Bet PMU in Mali has donated essential COVID-19 protective kits to places in need across Bamako.

The fight against Coronavirus has caused great suffering around the world and the impact on every day life has been substantial.

Mali is no different in this regard, with flights, schools and large gatherings banned or closed by the President in March.

Premier Bet PMU, supported by their charity wing, Premier Projects have acted to protect those on the frontline in the battle against Coronavirus.

Four hospitals in Bamako have received substantial quantities of hydroalcoholic sanitizer gels, disposable masks and gloves from the betting company, to help them win out against COVID-19.

Lafiabougou CSREF, Hamdallaye Maternity, Military Base B Hospital and the Hippodrome INRSP were all recipients of the urgent supplies. As well as the hospitals, Premier Bet PMU and Premier Projects also provided their staff, agents and some locals with the protective kits.

A spokesman for Premier Projects said: “It is a great pleasure to be able to donate these vital kits to hospitals across Bamako. The frontline workers have put their health at risk to ensure as few Malians are affected by this horrible virus as possible. We are forever thankful and we hope this donation helps them to stay safe.”

The INRSP are responsible for testing Coronavirus across Bamako. To show their appreciation for the donation, they have confirmed that they will test members of staff at Premier Bet PMU’s headquarters in July.

The Premier Projects spokesman continued: “The safety and health of our staff has always been one of our highest priorities. They are the heartbeat of our company and we appreciate all of their efforts during the uncertain times of this pandemic. Therefore, providing them with masks, gloves and sanitizers is a way of keeping them safe, whilst protecting their livelihoods.”

Mali has had over 2,000 confirmed cases of COVID-19 to date. Sadly, 116 have passed away from the cruel virus.

Premier Bet PMU and Premier Projects would like to encourage all Malians to wear masks and stay socially distanced when possible. We also encourage everyone in Mali to listen to the advice of the government and the World Health Organisation (WHO). Together, we can beat Coronavirus.
