Premier Projects and RJC Donate New Water Supply in Cameroon

Water Yokadouma
The summer started in the best possible way for the inhabitants of Yokadouma in eastern Cameroon. On June 19, a brand new water supply system was inaugurated with great fanfare. This wonderful system was fully funded and built by RJC and Premier Projects, the charity wing of Premier Bet.

Yokadouma has a high population density and is home to nearly 78,000 inhabitants. This borehole, with a capacity of 3,500 liters, will supply the Boumba and Ngoko departments. It is a pump powered by a solar panel but with the possibility of operating by electrical energy in the event of a glitch.

This project is part of a national "Water for All" campaign launched by RJC in 2018. During this campaign, RJC and Premier Projects took action across each area of the country. A lack of drinking water is a real problem that affects many Cameroonians. In the fight against diseases, especially childhood diseases, it is important to be able to supply the entire population with drinking water. It is this vision that was the driving force behind the launch of this campaign, orchestrated by RJC.

The sub-prefect of Yokadouma commune said: “We all know this. The state can no longer do everything. That’s why he encourages these kinds of private-public partnerships. We can only express our deep gratitude to this company and especially to these men and women who work tirelessly for the well-being of communities."

It is therefore another stone laid by the RJC and Premier Projects in their charitable work, which aims to improve the living conditions of all Cameroonians. Other projects are to come, because the work does not stop and this fight is ongoing.
